This month, Kings Hammer hosted the Cincy Challenge tournament in the Cincinnati area as well as attended multiple other tournaments, including Battle in the Bluegrass in Elizabethtown, KY. All of our teams had a fantastic weekend there with some great results. It was all smiles and goals from Kings Hammer! Great work to all of the teams and coaches, and a special thanks to all the soccer scouts who attended our matches. Check out the video below to see some awesome goals from our players at the event!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Kings Hammer at ECNL St Louis 2024! #soccer #sports #goals\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BEEo3vX2vfI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">August Education: The &#8220;Laws&#8221; of the Game<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the leading causes of stress, confusion, anger, and angst during soccer games (youth through professional) is the misunderstanding, misapplication, and misconceptions around the rules of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are five of the leading problem-causing culprits when it comes to &#8220;Laws&#8221; in soccer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Offside (note &#8211; not offsides<u>)<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u201cinterpretation\u201d of offside is worthy of an entire book, but a majority of the debate takes place around interpreting two components: the positioning of the offending player at the time the ball was played and if the alleged offending player was \u201cactively involved\u201d in the play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Being \u201cactively involved\u201d generally refers to 3 possibilities; receiving the ball, engaging the defender as they receive the ball, or actively interfering with the goalkeeper\u2019s ability to make a play on a shot ball.&nbsp;&nbsp;The first is fairly obvious, the second two can be a little more subjective and open to interpretation by the official.
