month&nbsp;and what better way to start the month off than with our last tournament of the spring&nbsp;season?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About 150 teams&nbsp;spent their weekend with us and&nbsp;played their hearts out.&nbsp;Congratulations to all&nbsp;hard-working&nbsp;teams who earned those&nbsp;finalists&nbsp;and championship&nbsp;medals!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special shoutout to all the moms who also spent their weekend with us on Mother\u2019s Day,&nbsp;we could not be here without the support from all the soccer moms in our community!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Our Coaches brought the heat at Finn\u2019s Cup!&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>We held the fourth annual Finn\u2019s Cup on a beautiful May evening!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone was excited to gather to celebrate Finn\u2019s&nbsp;legacy&nbsp;in our&nbsp;community&nbsp;and cheer on our Kings Hammer coaches&nbsp;as&nbsp;they stretched and prepared for the highly&nbsp;anticipated&nbsp;coaches versus&nbsp;coaches&nbsp;game.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t&nbsp;let those grey hairs or dusty cleats fool you&#8230;our coaches brought their A-game!&nbsp;The&nbsp;white&nbsp;shirt&nbsp;team dominated against the&nbsp;black&nbsp;shirt&nbsp;team with a score of 4-2, and two coaches got dunked in the process.&nbsp;Thankfully, there were no injuries during the game, but rumor has it the coaches were a bit sore for&nbsp;Orion&nbsp;Cup the next day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the&nbsp;coaches&nbsp;game was the main&nbsp;event,&nbsp;we also celebrated our volunteer, young refs,&nbsp;rec&nbsp;coach, competitive&nbsp;coaches, and&nbsp;parent admin&nbsp;of the year.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rec Coach of the year: Gabe Gonzalez&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Competitive&nbsp;Coaches of the year:&nbsp;AJ Smith and Majda Adrovic&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Volunteer of the year:&nbsp;Mike Stuteville&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Young Referees of the year:&nbsp;Noah Mai and Ellie Baughman&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parent class=\"wp-block-heading\">Week 1&nbsp;of tryouts was&nbsp;packed&nbsp;and&nbsp;get&nbsp;ready for week 2!&nbsp;<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>We wrapped up the first week of tryouts for our&nbsp;Elite and Academy&nbsp;U9 \u2013 U12&nbsp;kids,&nbsp;and we are&nbsp;hyped&nbsp;for what the future holds for our Kings Hammer teams.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep an eye out for those offer letters and please reach out to your DOC if you have any&nbsp;questions or concerns&nbsp;regarding&nbsp;tryouts.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those who are&nbsp;trying out for Elite or The FIFA World Cup is being hosted right here in the United States. That means the greatest players on the planet, the ones you have watched on screens and dreamed about becoming, will be competing in stadiums across this country. I want you to use that. Let it fuel something in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here is the challenge I am putting to you this summer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reflect. Dream. Write it down<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take time during this break to sit with yourself and honestly ask: Where am I right now? What kind of player have I been? What kind of player do I want to become? These are not easy questions, but they are the most important ones a developing player can ask. The best athletes in the world are not just physically gifted. They are self-aware. They know themselves. They study themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grab a journal (we provide one in club resources in playmetrics). It does not have to be formal or perfect. Write about a moment from this past season that challenged you. Write about what made you proud. Write about what you want to be different next year. And then dream big. As you watch the World Cup this summer, find a player who inspires you. Study the way they move, the decisions they make, the effort they pour into every moment. Pick someone you want to grow toward. That is your target.
